Design story & product details
Red slab-serif lettering drives the composition, with Slam stretched across the top and Dunk landing beneath it in huge block capitals. Black offset shadows give the letters a doubled edge, while dark mottling breaks through the red and keeps the type from reading as clean or flat.
A jumping player cuts through both word rows on the Heavyweight Unisex Crewneck T-shirt, wearing green with yellow trim and a large yellow 31. One arm lifts an orange basketball beyond the lettering; the other reaches rightward with fingers fully spread. His bent legs split the lower area, ending in pale blue shoes pointed in separate directions.
At left, a small red basketball and fine radiating marks lead into the black brush-script words Lock down. The right side answers with blue slanted script arranged as control, the, and game. White breaks around these side notes leave them clear of the crowded player and headline type.
A dark elliptical hoop crosses the lower lettering, with a loose crisscross net drawn over it. The black shadowing, distressed red surface, and hand-drawn court details bring several lettering styles into one basketball graphic without smoothing out their differences.
