Design story & product details
Empty grey stretches through the centre and upper area, leaving room between two swimmers facing each other at the pool wall. Both rest folded arms on its near edge, their conversation given as much space as their bodies. On the Unisex Jersey Tank, the red and cream artwork turns a pause in swimming into the subject itself. Cream skin and swim caps share the same treatment, with heavy red shading lines defining the muscles of their arms.
- The left swimmer raises a hand with goggles dangling from the wrist, while the right swimmer lets a hand drape over the head. Those different gestures give each figure a separate posture within the shared pause.
- The pool wall makes a wide, shallow U. Evenly spaced vertical red ticks follow its curve, with a row of red dots marking the right end.
- Bold, condensed cream capitals follow the arc below the wall, reading Talking Counts as a Lap, followed by a red dot and Founded 2008. The thick letters taper slightly, and their triangular negative spaces sharpen the otherwise solid lettering.
The joke depends on the exchange between the swimmers: talking becomes an activity worth counting alongside a lap. It suits someone whose pool sessions include time for a chat.
