Design story & product details
Burnt coral and cream pull sharply against the flat gray ground, giving the oversized Korean lettering a cut-paper force before the figures below take over. The words are Korean and mean, “Hyung, you know Korean-style greetings are basic!”—with hyung used for an older brother or older male acquaintance. Their rounded, imperfect edges retain a hand-drawn feel, while the black contour doubles back with a cream inner line and a small lower-right shadow. On the Heavyweight Unisex Crewneck T-shirt, that layered title frames a comic exchange between bird and bowing man.
At left, the shoebill-like bird is built from restless gray-blue feather marks, not a smooth block of color. Its orange-yellow beak carries dark cross-hatching, and its orange legs end in clearly separated taloned feet. Opposite it, a dark-haired man folds forward in a deep bow, his navy hanbok-style jacket broken up with pattern and small tassel bows. The lower Korean line is black with a cream edge, and two brief coral diagonal marks appear on either side, four in all. The open gray around the feet and over the bird’s back leaves the figures with room to play out the greeting.
