Design story & product details
Cream serif lettering and teal water establish the artwork’s main contrast, while WISHIN’ and FISHIN’ appear in large type with cream faces, heavy black outlines, offset shadows, slender gold edging, and mottled dark wear. A curved black ribbon carries “I was” in cream, with short gold strokes at either side. The Heavyweight Unisex Crewneck T-shirt carries a fish that brings motion to the artwork, its open mouth breaking through layered cream gill folds.
Black spots scatter across scales worked in orange, yellow, teal, and cream. Gold-rimmed sunglasses mirror blue water and a line of distant trees, a small reflection that offsets the fish’s blue mesh-backed cap and its mountain-and-tree patch. One teal fin closes around a cork-handled fishing rod beside a black-and-gold reel. The rod bends in a broad curve, while a gold line sweeps through the letters. Teal splashes cluster at the fish’s sides, leaving deliberate white breaks around its outer edge so the water does not become a solid field. Even the reel keeps the same limited gold-and-black treatment used in the outlines, tying its hardware to the old-sign lettering.
