Design story & product details
Thick, angular lettering forms the words “WRAPPED” and “BY HAND” in a densely packed two-line composition, with the top line rising as if hurriedly stacked. Careful layering of rust-orange, outlined sharply with pale edges and smudged with wear, lends the letters a sense of weight and motion.
Beneath the text, the artist recreates the familiar sight of a hand-wrapped bundle: heavy knitted fabric, dark and ribbed, peeks through cream-colored paper that folds and twists with defined, inky hatching. The spiral on the left hints at the end of a garment or skein, tightly but casually wound.
A single pale cord cuts across, forming a knot that gathers the package—its twisted, looped, and trailing strands rendered with exacting detail. The oversized scissors with textured, angled blades and oval handles command immediate attention at lower left, caught mid-action and partly shadowed by scuffs of black ink.
