Design story & product details
Ink laid flat on heavy jersey turns the fine stipple in this drawing into something close to an old press print, and on a men’s oversized heavyweight crewneck t-shirt the grain reads clearly: navy trousers shaded dot by dot, with blue-violet light running down each fold.
Two skaters are shown only from above the knee down, their legs crossing mid-stride. One wears trousers with plain hems. The other has rolled wide cream turn-ups, and ribbed cream socks show between cuff and boot.
All four feet are in cream high-top quad skates, outlined in navy, with dotted stitching along the seams and laces criss-crossed up to loose bows. The wheels are red with dark hubs, the soles and heels black, and a red toe stop juts from the front of the two nearest skates. A long red knitted scarf twists across both pairs of legs, its ribs drawn strand by strand and its tasselled fringe flying at each end, which is the only hint of how fast they are going.
The palette stays at navy, cream, red and black. It suits anyone who skates, or anyone buying for a friend who spends weekends at the rink.
