Design story & product details
Delicate curled flourishes hover over the smaller line of lettering, a fine ornamental note beneath the horses’ legs. On the Heavy Blend Unisex Crewneck Sweatshirt, two pale horses overlap while facing left, their bent forelegs lifted and their long tails traveling to the right. Dark navy linework picks out bridles, saddles, hooves, reins, and muscle, while fine gray hatching softens the cream bodies. The riders are distinct: one wears light gray, and the other a vivid red, dark-shaded coat with cream breeches and tall navy boots.
- Densely crossing reins create a busy connection between the horses’ heads and the riders’ hands.
- Tall top hats rise into an open pale field, leaving the riders’ profiles clearly separated from the action below.
- A thin navy serif arch is broken by the horses’ legs, giving the lettering an interrupted, upward sweep.
Grande Époque takes its name from the lettering, which reads Parisian Legance Grande Époque. The French phrase Grande Époque means “great era,” while the unusual Parisian Legance wording is retained as it appears in the artwork.
