Design story & product details
Orange-red route marking and ochre-brown type are held together by the same dense black edging, giving Minor Detour a deliberately built, sign-like rhythm. The open centre of the route form is left bare, so its stepped course reads as a line with room to travel through. On the embroidered Classic Dad Hat, the artwork retains broad pauses between its elements and a compact, weighty lettering block.
- The route mark begins with a horizontal left end, climbs through a squared step to a flat top, then drops into a rounded right-hand bulb.
- Minor is pulled into a clear arch: its outer letters lean away while the central N remains upright.
- Detour stays level beneath it, with heavy slab serifs pressed close enough for several black outlines to meet.
Narrow empty counters cut into several characters, preventing the dense brown letterforms from becoming a single solid mass. Those small openings echo the unfilled route centre and make the black contours feel especially deliberate.
