Description
The wraparound print transforms the curved surface with its metal-inspired ‘MYEONGNYANG’ lettering, rendered in cream and gold, edged in thin black, and textured to appear fractured. The spiked shapes at both ends draw out into sharpened points, slipping past a cracked compass motif printed at the center above, with the black field behind composed of subtle cloud-like forms in darker gray.
The remainder of the design settles into a tight composition of stippled and lined ink, featuring a warship with a dragon-headed prow drawn into an immense navy-blue and white vortex. Debris—splintered masts, barrels, and hull fragments—swirls along the irregular torn-printed borders, densest near the far edges. The only text, ‘MYEONGNYANG,’ uses Roman letters; the name refers to a famous Korean naval battle, here delivered in a style reminiscent of doom metal album covers.
- The print aligns precisely at the join opposite the handle, so the warship and lettering each remain clearly visible.
- Palette is limited to muted blue, cream, gold, black, and tan, avoiding high-intensity colors.
