Design story & product details
Embroidery gives Night Orchard Compass a raised, outlined presence on the Classic Dad Hat, where the artwork is reduced to its firmest lines and letterforms. Night curves across the upper field in tall slab-serif capitals, its burgundy fill held inside a fine white inset and a heavier black edge. Below, the eight-point star carries the design’s directional structure.
Gold bars run outward from the star’s horizontal axis, ending in rounded inner terminals and diamond tips at the outer ends. Burgundy and white facets alternate within the star, divided by black lines and traced with gold. Orchard follows a broad ascending ribbon; pale gray edges frame its burgundy capitals, while the gold lower folds lead into forked white tails.
Threadwork preserves open white intervals around the compass and within those tail shapes, preventing the crowded lettering from becoming a solid block. The gold is used as a trim line as much as a colour field, particularly where the ribbon border meets its black boundary. The result is a compact embroidered emblem with a deliberate hierarchy.
