Description
Two corners of the artwork remain open, with the forms of fruit and foliage filling out a distinct diagonal crossing. A gnarled branch, painted in dark brown-black, winds from upper left to lower right, marked by small protruding nodes along its length. The persimmons cluster most visibly along the ends of the branch, rich in orange and salmon hues with pairs of fruit gently pressed against each other, while the central section breathes with more open space. Each fruit is topped with a loose, brush-marked calyx, capturing the papery look of sepals curling slightly away from the fruit.
The muted green-grey leaves are rendered in varying sizes, with the largest leaf grouping joining the branch near the upper left, roots almost at the edge of the composition. Dry, textured brushstrokes allow lighter areas to emerge, shaping each leaf, while darker strokes suggest veins and the more irregular edges.
