Design story & product details
Olive-green SEOUL is the largest mark, formed in a serif that shifts from thick strokes to fine inward curls. A widely spaced coordinate line, 37.5665° N, 126.9780° E, appears over it, while KOREA is reduced to narrow capitals beneath. Between those lettering groups, two nearly white clouds leave much of the field unfilled. The artwork on this Heavyweight Unisex Crewneck T-shirt includes Korean characters that read Gwanghwamun, meaning Gate of Enlightening Transformation, linking the coordinates to the palace gate below.
The building is arranged in a strict front-facing symmetry, but its rooflines do the liveliest work: two dark blue-grey tiled tiers turn upward at each end and carry pale edges. Green beams thread through dense red and gold joinery, with a small cream sign in the upper storey. The cream sign is a small pause within the upper structure. Three brown arches break the cream wall below, the central arch noticeably slimmer than its neighbours. Low tiled wings run outward on both sides before layered tan, ochre and grey-brown bands anchor the structure. The crowded architecture and broad white intervals give each section a deliberate separation.
