Design story & product details
White gaps cut through the dense field around the portrait, making room between the scratchy blocks, crosshatching, and stray ink flecks. A long-haired, bearded face tilts upward with its eyes directed high and its lips slightly open. Heavy black masses sweep down either side of the head, but fine white strands break their edges. The face itself shifts between sharp black wedges, stippled shadow, and tiny halftone dots, so the features never settle into one flat treatment.
On the Heavyweight Unisex Crewneck T-shirt, Stop The War holds its black-and-white image in a dense collision of face, lettering, and radiating marks. Long pointed shafts push outward behind the head, separated by narrow white channels that keep the crowded drawing from closing in. The words Stop The War cross the lower portrait in heavy white forms: Stop is rounded and uneven; The is smaller, narrow, and upright; War opens into much broader, irregular strokes. Black speckles roughen the letter interiors, letting the dark beard, hair, and shoulders interrupt the words.
