The print turns a familiar cassette stack into a crisp, diagram-like mark, keeping its worn mechanics visible through black, cream, tan, and brown passages. On the Heavyweight Unisex Crewneck T-shirt, Tape Study keeps three black tapes in a compact arrangement: one upright, with two lying flat at differing angles below.
- The upright cassette carries a large cream panel with clipped corners, thin dark edging, and a black window assembly at its middle.
- Cream-ringed hubs reveal black toothed centres, while brown wound tape and a pale opening divide the pair. Small tan screw heads appear at the corners and along the lower edge.
- Fine horizontal grooves run through the black plastic, and scattered dark speckles break up the cream surfaces. A dark brown ribbon leaves the right hub, drops to the side, then returns in a broad angular loop with tan accents on its bends.
The lower tapes retain their own blank cream rectangles and narrow brown-filled windows, so the stack reads as three separate objects even where their edges overlap. The absence of a slogan leaves the cassette construction to carry the whole image.
