Design story & product details
The largest form is New over York, built in huge block lettering whose cream upper halves give way to red below. Thin black contours and substantial offset shadows make the words feel layered, while scratches and speckled wear interrupt the otherwise solid fields. On the Heavyweight Unisex Crewneck T-shirt, that stacked title carries the whole graphic.
York works as a scene as well as a word: red, cream, and black streaks run through its letters, with water lines low down and a dark skyline rising from them. Bridge towers and cable lines emerge within the lower word, and a red disk appears behind its tallest spired building.
A long suspension bridge travels across the break between the two rows before joining a denser cluster of buildings on the right. Brooklyn, Queens, and The Bronx appear in cream serif type with heavy black edges, arranged as a compact stack above the bridge. Staten Island is written in red through the stack’s right side.
At the base, Brooklyn, The Bronx, and Manhattan overlap the lower lettering; Manhattan appears again in red beneath its cream counterpart. Small spaced capitals are framed by short cream ornaments, a restrained finish amid the crowded city construction.
