Design story & product details
Short, close-set strokes give the bat’s face and chest a worked surface, while muted plum-brown linework gathers at the ears and jaw. It is a front-facing bat head joined directly to the central knot of a large ribbon bow.
Broad wings extend sideways from that knot, their raised upper contours breaking into angular edges before reaching pointed outer tips. Pale radiating lines map the membranes, and deeply scalloped lower edges give the wings a cut-out rhythm. Dense hatching and stippled marks stay most concentrated around the wings and knot.
Under them, two rounded bow loops turn outward, described by fine curved parallel strokes that follow each fold. Two twisting tails descend from the knot, each ending in a sharp point; the right falls lower than the left, leaving a large open gap between them.
Velvet Wings is a bat-and-bow illustration for a crewneck T-shirt, its pale beige fills held within muted plum-brown outlines.
