Description
The artwork uses a robust muted palette and textured print to give depth to both the portrait and the lettering. Block 3D letters reading ‘YI’ and ‘SUN-SIN’ have a distressed cracked surface, rendered in cream with navy drop-shadow, and are visually anchored by a rope border that encircles the design. Below, the title ‘ADMIRAL’ appears in a serif type with flanking dashes, smaller but carefully placed in relation to the hero’s name.
Centered is a detailed profile of a bearded man in ornate armor and helmet, recognized as Yi Sun-Sin—a historical Korean admiral. His helmet features dragon engravings and a prominent plume extending left, while the armor shows scaled plates and additional dragon motifs. Underneath, a turtle ship (geobukseon) sails choppy illustrated waves, its form showing the riveted hull and dragon-head prow.
