Design story & product details
Pale golden yellow and deep burgundy overlay the crewneck’s heavy cotton, with each color carrying the speckled roughness and fine crosshatching of the original mark. Lettering in hefty, condensed capitals fills out the upper half, stating “YOU TAKE THE SHADE” in layered burgundy and yellow that climbs upwards. Just below, a slatted bench anchors the scene behind a figure in a backward cap and loose casual gear, stretching a hand toward two bag handles. The oval head of a racket juts out among the packed lines and fading grid of the tennis net, while the pale outlines of a hard court slice beneath.
Dense leafy clusters mass at the upper right, and larger branches fill around a lower plaque, which carries both a heavy outline and thin parallel bars. Burgandy shadows, long and pooled, spread out over the court’s open lanes around the outstretched legs. The plaque simply reads “LONG SHADOW TENNIS FOUNDED 1982,” marking the scene with an athletic origin.
