Design story & product details
A large round red lion mask leads the artwork on a crewneck T-shirt, its cream folded fringe forming a dense halo with flashes of red on the reverse. Cream and gold rings widen the circular eyes around black pupils, while heavy black brows press down over them. A rounded red nose is dotted in gold; white whisker stripes meet a black mouth lined with small triangular cream teeth.
Behind the mask, cream drapery is traced with pale gold cloud curls and falls into layered, fringed legs. A masked dancer brings one knee and one arm upward in cream trousers, dark blue panels, green sleeve bands, gold edging, and a red sash. Long cream ribbons, red on their backs, arc through the remaining space. Est 1915, Lion Dance, and Bongsan are the artwork’s words; Bongsan is Korean for Phoenix Mountain, the place name associated with this mask-dance tradition.
The mark is constructed through stacked outlines and deliberate contrast: black facial features give the mask its force, while cream fringe interrupts the red in narrow folds. The lettering uses dark decorative serif forms edged in gold, with enlarged L and D in Lion Dance. Fine rules, each centered on a diamond, frame Est and 1915, and the widely spaced Bongsan closes the composition between horizontal lines.
