Design story & product details
“Burn the Devels” is worked in cream Gothic blackletter, its thick angular serifs cut with a hard, almost blade-like profile. Black drop shadows deepen every character, while cracking and worn breaks run through the pale strokes. The uneven fractures cut through the broadest interior strokes with deliberate irregularity.
The B’s vertical bar breaks apart, and the A narrows into dagger forms marked by small diamond studs. Beneath the main line, “the Devels” moves into thinner script, its capitals and lowercase letters contained by a dark ribbon edged in cream and traced with tan-gold linework.
On the Unisex Longsleeve T-shirt, the ribbon finishes in curled, thorn-like points at both ends. Small four-point sparkle stars interrupt the lettering near its bases and the banner, echoing the four smaller stars flanking the compass-rose mark.
That eight-point star is filled in cream, bounded by black and circled with a fine ring. Its measured geometry counters the damaged letter texture, while the solid gray ground leaves the black, cream, and tan-gold drawing sharply legible.
