Design story & product details
DEEP CURRENT is drawn in tall, jagged blackletter-inspired capitals, with white interiors held by dark outlines and a wavy baseline. RESEARCH follows in smaller, widely spaced serif capitals, bracketed by dots and fine horizontal rules. On the Heavy Blend Unisex Crewneck Sweatshirt, that measured lettering anchors an underwater scene without competing with its dense lower field.
- A rivet-lined submarine/periscope-like tower meets a crosshair radar dial, with tick marks radiating from its circular face. The more open upper center gives that instrument room before the water detail gathers.
- Two large crescents curve outward behind the tower, their interiors patterned with waves like moon slivers cut from the sea. Dark jagged rocks and thin seaweed fronds frame the turbulent foam-crested water.
- Bubbles of varied sizes drift around the composition, and a compass/star emblem appears below the tower. A second small compass-star icon with crosslines marks the lowest point.
The restricted navy, steel blue, cream and black palette is worked throughout in a grainy halftone texture across the whole design. Its contrast keeps the lettering readable while preserving the rough, illustrated surface.
