Design story & product details
A tiny compass-star with crosslines closes the composition beneath the smaller line of lettering, echoing the larger emblem near the base of the tower. The unisex longsleeve T-shirt carries Deep Current Research: a riveted submarine or periscope-like tower, crowned by a crosshair radar dial whose tick marks fan outward. Two broad crescents bend away behind it, their interiors broken into waves, while bubbles drift through the open space around the dial.
The lower field turns more crowded, with turbulent stylized waves and off-white foam crests pressing against dark, jagged rocks; thin seaweed fronds thread between them. Navy and steel blue are held to cream/off-white and black outlines, with grainy halftone texture running through every part. Deep Current appears in tall, jagged blackletter-inspired capitals, white within their dark edges and carried on a wavy baseline. Research follows in smaller spaced serif capitals, marked by dots and fine horizontal rules. The two text treatments retain distinct spacing and edge work, while the recurring compass language links the dial, tower-base emblem, and small sign at the bottom without smoothing out the water’s rough motion.
