Design story & product details
A broad, bowl-shaped black body gives the bird its weight, while an ivory upper section follows its rim in a fine black edge. The left-facing head is pared down to a solid circular eye and a pointed beak split between a red upper wedge and black lower wedge.
Thin black legs run nearly to the lower edge, passing a rounded red block behind the bird’s lower body. In this rendering for the Unisex Longsleeve T-shirt, that red form keeps the grounded figure from reading as a simple silhouette.
An irregular black oval carries scattered white distressed flecks, a small interruption that is easy to miss among the looping marks. Long black lines travel through the open white field, cross one another, and finish at intervals with solid round dots.
At upper right, narrow pointed leaves fan from a single junction. Their black outlines contain ivory interiors and extra interior strokes, building a dense corner without filling the rest. Below, “Fly Free” is written in slender upright black handwriting, with tall capitals and looping lowercase letters.
