Description
Gothic-inspired blackletter is sharply rendered at the top and center—its dense, spiked forms layered so tightly that a sense of tension builds between each letter. Red accents pick out jagged shadows along the weathered beige fill, exaggerating the three-dimensional illusion. Below that, the artwork focuses on a warship designed to look both industrial and animalistic: its bow merges into a dragon’s snarling mouth, releasing red flames carved in angular strokes toward the left side of the panel.
The ship’s hull is armored with a grid of metallic panels and lined with formidable spikes. Oars dip into swirling monochrome waves, drawn with such contrast that the movement becomes almost abstract. One armored warrior stands at the stern, just beside trailing, ragged banners rendered in a dark red. The left edge collects a dense mass of clouds, while the right foreground leaves a sharp interval of space above the waterline.
