Description
The concentric circles of the artwork bring together type and texture in a way that recalls a classic inked stamp. Each circle is precisely spaced, forming a structured base for the central element, which is the repeated word ‘KNOWN’. The bold, vertically stretched serif letters look deliberately weathered, with diagonal shading lines that imitate an engraved or etched effect. A distressed texture runs consistently through the lettering, especially along the flared edges, where the deep indigo pigment fades away to simulate vintage wear. Every letter in the stack is aligned with the next, building visual rhythm as well as depth.
Outside the core, a circular band carries the phrases ‘BEFORE THE WORDS’ and ‘WITHIN THE SILENCE’, set in a comparable serif style and spaced evenly around the circumference. Small dots divide the phrases, breaking up the ring with just enough definition without dominating the overall look.
