"My Usual Seoul Cafe" 11oz Ceramic Mug

Description

Oversized angular capitals form the broad arch at the top of this 11oz Ceramic Mug, moving between turquoise and hot pink with white edging and thick black extruded shadows. Speckles and small drips interrupt the letterforms, while a black-haired figure fills the space beneath them. Her high bun is deliberately messy, with loose strands and turquoise and pink streaks breaking through the dark hair. The Korean word in the lettering means Seoul.

A raised jacket collar frames her half-lidded face, hoop earrings, and the black halftone shading across her skin. Behind both shoulders, tightly packed buildings build a narrow city backdrop, including a slender tower and signs reading CAFE and SEOUL. White gaps around the head hold pink and turquoise stars, lightning bolts, and a pink outlined heart. A wide black banner closes the composition with UNFORTUNATELY in heavy white lettering, followed by smaller turquoise SEOUL / CAFE REGULAR and short turquoise lines at either side.

Its marks combine solid blocks of colour with rougher printed details: distressed white edging, scattered speckles, halftone dot fields, and drips at the lettering tips and lower banner border. The diagonal run of dense zipper teeth is especially precise, cutting across the jacket as a hard black-and-white line against the looser illustrated face and skyline.
