Description
Lettering defines the frame: ‘LONG REACH ROWING SOCIETY’ arcs in worn serif capitals, printed in softly faded cream against a muted grey. The composition is circular, wrapped by a twin-line border, with ‘EST. 1976’ curving neatly at the base. At the center, dense with lines and texture, a rower’s scull is drawn from above—every part distinct, from its pointed bow to the footplate just behind bold, stacked initials.
Two crossed oars, with wood-grain lines clearly pressed into the blades, angle outward, crossing the scull and reaching past the inner circle. The condensed ‘ROW ROW ROW’ text anchors the middle, its overlapping forms breaking just enough around the illustration for you to read it beneath boat and hardware. The scull’s tiny, wavy water marks echo subtle movement below.
All elements are softly distressed, as if sun-faded and pressed-in by years of wear, granting the whole mark a tactile feel against the heavyweight crewneck. Suits anyone drawn to rowing tradition or graphic art with a vintage athletic edge.
