"Mermaid Costume" Unisex Longsleeve T-shirt

White space does much of the work here, leaving broad breaks between three suspended tails and making their packed markings feel more deliberate. In Mermaid Costume, a thin curved black line and seven dark clothespins become a small drying line, with each tail hanging straight down. At left, cream stripes run through a black body scattered with cream dots; its divided fins carry faint pale arcs. The shorter central tail reverses the scheme, building dense black scallops across cream.

The right-hand tail changes scale again, moving from larger overlapping scales to smaller ones before ending in two pointed black fins striped with pale curves. A gray five-pointed star breaks the space between it and the middle tail. Beneath the central form, mermaid and costume are written in irregular thin lowercase black letters with no outlines. On the Unisex Longsleeve T-shirt, those open intervals remain as important as the patterned bodies: the dark fields show worn speckling, while the repeated scale work stays dense and contained. The line’s slight curve keeps the hanging forms from reading as a rigid row or pattern chart.
