Design story & product details
A dusting of dark red speckles breaks across the pale salmon-pink petal edges, giving the flowers a marked, hand-observed surface. Two overlapping hibiscus blossoms carry broad, softly rippled petals, fine veins and burgundy centres that open into pointed magenta streaks.
Yellow-tipped stamens gather around pale stalks, while a smaller bloom recedes at the upper left of the larger flower. Faint grey rays fan out behind them, remaining so light that the surrounding field feels deliberately spare.
Beneath the blooms, “Hibiscus” is drawn in heavy angular blackletter, tightly packed beneath a small open break. White and grey faces, thick black contours and offset shadows give each letter a carved, bevelled depth; curled strokes, pointed terminals and diamond marks sharpen the old-script treatment. Its narrow open gap keeps the two elements distinct.
The botanical image and lettering on the crewneck T-shirt join a design that also names the Korean national flower. The repeated Korean word Mugunghwa names the hibiscus and literally carries the sense of an everlasting flower. The verse speaks of petals, storms and hope, keeping that national-flower reference in view.
