"Rien d’Urgent" Classic Dad Hat · Embroidered

Rien d’urgent is built from two emphatic lines of French lettering, meaning “nothing urgent.” Each letter is packed with muted purple and held inside a thick black border, so the small white counters read as narrow breaks in an otherwise dense field. On the Classic Dad Hat, the embroidered wording keeps that weight, including the separate blocky dot over the i and the deliberately broad breathing room between the two lines.

The upper word does not run straight: its capital R leans left, the i rises near the middle, and the final n tips right to complete a loose arch. Beneath it, d’urgent runs far wider, compressed until several black outlines meet. A large curved apostrophe opens the interval between the tall d and u, while the g drops below the remaining letters. Broad slab-like serifs and rounded corners keep the forms blunt and close-packed. The effect relies on the lower word allowing very little empty space.
