Design story & product details
Fine stippling in the print gives the whale a softly weathered surface, while pale teal-grey opens across its body and gray-brown gathers over the head, ridges, fins, and spread tail flukes. On the Heavy Blend Unisex Crewneck Sweatshirt, Sail Beyond the Skies turns that illustrated whale into an airborne load: five hot-air balloons draw it upward with narrow white-grey cables that meet along its back. The tallest canopy is also the darkest, built in brown-black, whereas the two teal balloons at either side carry more color than the two lighter, smaller companions.
- Striped and diamond canopy patterns distinguish the balloon forms, each with a small basket car beneath.
- “Sail” is written in thin brown script, its looping tail extending from the word; “Beyond” crosses the largest balloon in white.
- The remaining lettering pairs a small brown “the” with a larger white “Skies,” whose opening S curls into a flourish.
A flat gray field leaves clear intervals around the balloons and below the fins, so the fine cable network and the whale’s downward-reaching flukes remain legible. The words read as a single phrase, Sail Beyond the Skies, but their alternating script weights make the lettering part of the flight apparatus instead of a separate caption.
