"Slight Delay" Classic Dad Hat · Embroidered

Embroidery gives the Slight Delay artwork a firm, outlined presence on the Classic Dad Hat, carrying two large words with black edges and white interiors. “SLIGHT” forms a pronounced arch over “DELAY”; the middle letters rise highest, while the S and T tip outward and extend lower at the ends. Heavy collegiate slab serifs, straight sides, and angular clipped corners keep the lettering closely contained.

A clear white band divides the rows and becomes widest below the raised centre of the upper word, so the arch retains open space without loosening the compact arrangement. Narrow white gaps remain between most neighbouring letters. The G is cut by a squared inward bar, the D holds a tall narrow opening, and the A reduces its counter to a small triangle.

The embroidered mark follows those hard edges instead of softening them: black stitching traces each thick outline, while the white letter interiors preserve the two-tone drawing. Serifs, clipped corners, and the close letter spacing are carried through the stitchwork, including the outward lean at the ends of SLIGHT. With no symbols or extra colour, the construction of the type remains the whole graphic.
