Design story & product details
Three short navy strokes hang in the air above a single red apple, and they are the only sign of movement in the whole drawing. The apple is mid-fall, one leaf still attached to its stem, heading for a basket that the tree has made for itself. On this crewneck sweatshirt the woodcut-style artwork reads as a small story: a tree that grows its own means of catching what it drops.
- The trunk climbs in an S-curve, dark navy cut through with cream streaks that follow the bark grain like gouge marks in a carved block.
- Low on the trunk, a few strands peel away and braid into a wide, shallow basket, its navy lattice filled with cream dashes, already holding two apples and a leaf.
- Olive leaves with thin pale veins crowd over navy branches, and eight red apples hang among them, each lit by cream strokes on one side.
What holds it together is the restraint of the palette. Navy, cream, olive and red do all the work, and the open space between canopy, trunk and basket gives the falling apple room to drop. Navy grass tufts spike around the roots and keep the tree planted. It suits gardeners, orchard visitors and anyone who likes autumn clothes with a quiet idea in them, and it makes an easy harvest-season gift.
