Description
A thin gold-brown curl hooks around a torn paper edge near the woman’s hair, one of several ornamental lines threading through the collage. Cream serif letters form FAITH along the upper edge, each letter carried by its own tilted black or dusty-red scrap; the uneven margins leave the word deliberately broken into pieces.
The artwork gathers its portrait from finely shaded marks: pink parted lips, dark loose hair, and an upward-left gaze emerge among ochre, muted-pink, and grey fan-shaped leaves. On the Unisex Jersey Tank, the words FAITH IN THE UNFINISHED frame that face, with IN THE in bold black on a cream torn strip. A monochrome bridge, riverside buildings, and a slender tower build out the left side, while botanical studies and small architectural fragments layer at right. White interruptions beside the face and between the outer scraps keep the image from closing into a single field.
