One flowering cherry tree rises from a thick brown trunk, where heavy twists divide into crooked branches.
Dark brown grooves and fine tan highlights follow the braided bark with unusual precision. At the base, broad exposed roots spread outward in tapering lengths, while the lower trunk is left with more open space around it.
Pink blossoms gather densely along the upper branches. The larger five-petalled flowers have pale edges, deep reddish centres, and thin stamens radiating from the middle; small oval buds show dark pink tips with lighter streaks. Pointed olive-green leaves add brown shading, pale centre veins, and fine diagonal marks, while detached curved petals break up several gaps in the canopy.
