Design story & product details
Nobody is holding the strap. The triangular loop hangs from a bent pole with no hand in it, and under the last line of lettering nothing is drawn at all, only the reader’s two polished lace-up shoes pointing off to the right.
The reader is seen from behind, seated at the end of a transit bench with a head of dark tousled hair bowed over an open book. A pale scarf shows at the collar of a long, heavy overcoat, and a satchel hangs at the hip from a buckled strap that crosses the back.
Three stacked lines read That Was My Stop in heavy condensed serif letters, cream with a speckled grain, thin cracks and a thick black shadow dropping to the lower right. The middle word is the largest, and the bowed head cuts into its first letter, so the figure and the sentence share the same space on the front of this pullover hoodie. The drawing is done like an engraving, in black and charcoal with cream highlights; the coat is built from short hatched strokes that read as herringbone, and the bench has rounded tubular armrests with a small grille panel below the seat.
It suits anyone who has ridden past their station with a chapter still to finish, and it makes an easy gift for a commuter who reads.
