Design story & product details
The gap between the two birch trunks is left open beside the moose’s head, and that open strip is where the joke lands, because the antlers have nowhere to go. A bull moose walks away from you, rump first, and has turned his head to the right to see who is behind him. His left antler has already gone behind the left trunk, so its tines poke out on both sides of the bark, while the right one spreads straight over the other tree. The trunks are off-white with black horizontal scars, and both are torn into ragged points at top and bottom, as if ripped from a longer strip of forest.
On the Heavy Blend Unisex Crewneck Sweatshirt the drawing reads like an old engraving in three colours: a dark brown coat, tan strokes following the haunch and the hind legs, and ochre-gold palms hatched with fine dark lines. The eye is small and a little weary. Under the chin hangs the bell of fur a bull carries, and there are pale glints on the hocks where the light catches them. It suits someone who spends autumn in the woods, or who is simply the largest person in a narrow hallway.
