Design story & product details
An oval wreath of two dark navy branches rises from the bottom and stops short at the top, so the ring stays open. Six rust orange pears hang from it, three to a side, and the heaviest one hangs low on the left where it pulls the whole shape slightly off balance. Their skins are stippled with pale cream dots, which gives each fruit a grainy sheen like the bloom on a real pear. Olive leaves with thin pale veins press in from both edges and overlap the fruit.
The story is at the base. The two branch ends have snapped apart, and each is bound with a few coils of orange thread. A navy needle lies diagonally across the break, mid-repair, with its thread dropping into a loose loop and a curled tail. That thread is the same rust as the pears, and the smallest pear, high on the left, has a notch missing from its side. On a crewneck sweatshirt the open middle of the wreath leaves the chest plain, which keeps a busy drawing from feeling heavy.
- The five-petalled blossoms are drawn in navy outline only, so their petals take the colour of the garment.
- Each pear carries a small dark dimple at its base, and the palette is held to navy, rust, olive and cream.
