Design story & product details
Open ground gives the paired cats a clean perimeter, leaving their joined inner edges and curved tails to carry the composition. Their outward-facing heads make the contact between them feel deliberately qualified.
The left cat is nearly black, worked with fine pale marks that pick out the chest, paws, fur direction and long whiskers. Beside it, the warm-grey cat is built from dark tabby stripes across the face, chest, legs, flank and tail. Its striped tail passes in front near the middle, while slender black curves continue beside both tails.
On the Unisex Longsleeve T-shirt, the cats are closely stacked with two lines of heavy black serif lettering below. The lower line is larger, with pronounced thick-and-thin strokes and an oversized question mark; there is no outline around the letters.
We’re Not Snuggling? turns the image into a small exchange between two cats whose paws nearly meet while their faces remain pointed in opposite directions. The contrast between delicate fur marks and the solid letterforms keeps both parts of the artwork clear.
