Design story & product details
A large upright grizzly bear forms the body of Bear Hug Heart, drawn in closely packed gray and black hatch marks against a flat gray field. Its full arms close around a small girl, with the clawed paws meeting and overlapping behind her back instead of falling loosely at her sides. She has long straight hair, shut eyes and softly pink cheeks, and her nightgown carries a small heart pattern above her socks. On the Heavyweight Unisex Crewneck T-shirt, the illustration is framed by “BIG HUG” in broad, lightly distressed letters that arc with the bear’s head.
“HEART” takes the lower third in larger block type, crossing the bear’s legs and covering the girl’s feet so the lettering becomes part of the embrace. The pale gray letters have narrow dark outlines and the same worn grain visible in the upper phrase. “BEAR LOVERS” follows beneath in thin, widely spaced capitals. Dense linework gives the bear a rough furred surface, while the open gray at the top and sides leaves a quiet margin around the close-held pair.
