Description
The largest presence on the artwork is the three-dimensional, blocky headline in shadowed blue and cream, reading “SEA CAVE” beneath an illustrated cross section of stone and water. Stone arches in stark vertical lines frame the inner chamber, each segment meticulously traced to suggest rough, eroded rock around the mouth and ceiling. A curling wave, rendered with dense stipple for foam and hatching for motion, builds from the left and presses into the space, setting off contrasting textures between smooth water and jagged stone.
Leader lines in cream run from thick blue-filled labels—”SEA CAVE” and “HIGH WATER”—pointing directly to the features they describe. The interior of the cave is drawn with three cream arcs leading the eye inward to a small label for the “echo chamber,” where the wall is rendered darkest. Above, a scaled band and decorative curls break up the space. Smaller block text beneath the cross section quietly notes “WHERE THE SWELL BECOMES SOUND,” tying together the geological illustration and the acoustics implied within the cave.
