Description
Wide stretches of pale torn ribbon fan into an arc, each segment carrying a single serif letter that merges the feel of old bookplates with battered botanical labels. Sepia monochrome creates a field where any extra color would interrupt; the illustration stays intricate entirely through hatching and subtle shadowing.
The open gate at the center is both barrier and passage, filigreed with scrolling iron lines and disguised hinges that fade into rose vines as if taken back by the garden itself. Look straight at the rose and you’ll notice the way water droplets have been given just enough highlight to seem fresh, worked with care into the layered petals.
Below the main art, a ribbon banner closes out the composition with the smaller serif phrase, using the same distressed letter treatment as above. The words across the design read, ‘THE ROSE OUTGREW THE GATE A GARDEN AFTER RAIN’.
On a heavyweight unisex crewneck t-shirt, the engraved detailing comes alive, fading toward the edges into scrollwork and leaves that mirror left and right. Good for someone who wants botanical art with a nod to vintage storybook engravings, or gifting to a friend drawn to detailed linework.
