Description
Surface Tension opens in tall, jagged lettering that arcs from edge to edge. Each condensed serif-slab letter is white through the face, worked with navy hatching and a drop shadow; the small changes in tilt and height keep the title from reading as a rigid banner. The same words return near the base in a blockier treatment, where white and navy letterforms meet a fine horizontal rule. Blue is handled in two tones throughout, with white reserved for the sharpest breaks of light against the grey ground.
A right-facing dolphin rises through the middle in navy and mid-blue linework, its white belly stripe cutting cleanly through the crosshatched body. Even the eye has a tiny highlight. Beneath it, the breaking wave becomes dense with dots, splashes and layered foam, while the upper-right sky stays comparatively open. A flat-topped rock island appears beyond the dolphin’s tail, its cliff face hatched in the same drawn language and crossed by thin cloud lines. On the Classic Cotton Tote Bag, the lower composition finishes with a shield marked JEJU, containing simple wave lines that echo the larger surf.
